Will Covey Ethics CLE on 11/15

Join the USPTO's Deputy General Counsel and Director of the Office of Enrollment and Discipline William Covey on Wednesday November 15th at 4:30 p.m. in New Orleans as he leads a discussion covering regulations that and selected scenarios from court cases and disciplinary proceedings.

An overview of several core aspects of legal ethics and practice before the USPTO. The presentation begins by briefly touching on various OED programs and initiatives, and then moves to a description of select regulations governing the USPTO’s disciplinary process and statistics regarding recent disciplinary orders. The presentation concludes with a thorough discussion of select case law relevant to practice before the USPTO in patent and trademark matters with an emphasis on USPTO disciplinary decisions and the USPTO Rules of Professional Conduct.

Will is in town to talk to the National Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts meeting hosted by The Ella Project, and he has graciously agreed to work with our friends at Intellectual Property Consulting, LLC to offer this presentation for free to the New Orleans legal community.
