I Can Do That: Artist Led Organizations webinar

Gian Smith Claire Thriffiley

The first in our new series of cultural conversations, with support from The Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation, I Can Do That seeks to dive into decision points into an artists career and a deeper understanding of what a whole artist career looks like in 2023. We’re excited to feature Gian Smith of the Black Film Festival of New Orleans and Claire Thriffiley of Claire Elizabeth Gallery and Amy’s Art Cart. Joining them will be Bethany Paulsen, a core Ella Project team member and independent fundraising consultant for this video as they discuss:

  • The initial vision and the reality of starting an organization.

  • How their artistry informs their nonprofit work, and vice versa.

  • Fundraising, board development, and multi-tasking.

  • Things they wish they knew when they started their organizations.
