Volunteer for Louisiana Invents

You are invited to use your skills to help grow our Louisiana economy by volunteering for Louisiana Invents. The Ella Project, a New Orleans pro bono legal services provider specializing in intellectual property, is part of the national network of regional organizations in the Patent Pro Bono Program for independent inventors and small businesses. We work to match low to moderate income Louisiana inventors with patent practitioners who can help them draft, file and prosecute their patent application. The Ella Project is also an approved pro bono organization by the Louisiana State Bar Association and your volunteer work can gain you CLE credit.

The Ella Project screens all clients before referring them to our volunteer attorneys. To be eligible, clients must have a gross household income that is less than three times the federal poverty level guidelines and show that they have knowledge of the U.S. patent system by either completing the USPTO’s certificate training course or owning a currently filed patent application. Email bulletins with available cases go out twice monthly and will be posted here, so we won’t overwhelm your inbox.

Be a part of the next great Louisiana invention! Complete our volunteer application below.
